Virgin Australia takes off from Canberra to Bali

The inaugural VA127, operated by 737 MAX 8 registration VH-8IK, took off from Canberra just before 1630 local time on Monday and touched down in Bail about six and a half hours later. The aircraft was on the ground for about 90 minutes before departing as the reciprocal VA128 for Canberra. VA has scheduled three return flights a week on the route. “We’ve already seen a strong response from customers, which reinforces the demand for direct international services from Canberra,” VA chief marketing and customer operations officer, Libby Minogue, said. Bali is Canberra Airport’s second nonstop international destination alongside Fiji Airways’s flights to Nadi. Qatar Airways flies to Canberra from its Doha hub via Melbourne. “Direct international services are incredibly important for the Canberra region, and this new Bali service is a wonderful milestone for our community,” Canberra Airport CEO, Stephen Byron, said.
