China Southern Airlines orders seven freighters from Boeing

China Southern Airlines (CSA) has disclosed an order of five 777-8F and two 777F freighters from Boeing, as well as purchase rights for a further three 777-8Fs, for its China Southern Air Cargo (CSA Cargo) subsidiary. Read More » The freighters were due for delivery between 2027 and 2034. CSA is a 55% shareholder of CSA Cargo, which is an existing operator of 777F freighter aircraft. "The board considers that cross-border e-commerce is currently and will continue to mature in the foreseeable future, and industrial upgrading is accelerating the pace of going global," CSA said in a regulatory filing. "The company and CSA Cargo are actively seizing development opportunities, maintaining steady growth in capacity share, and further optimising their fleet structure. The purchase will help enhance the profitability and core competitiveness of the company and CSA Cargo."
