American Airlines to resume Chicago-Tokyo Narita service in March 2027

American Airlines announced that on March 27, 2027, it will resume daily flights on the Chicago-Tokyo Narita route using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Read More » The service will be part of a Pacific joint venture with Japan Airlines (JAL), offering convenient connecting flights from Narita to destinations in Asia, such as Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, and Taipei. American Airlines will be the fourth carrier offering flights between Chicago and Tokyo. United Airlines, All Nippon Airways (ANA), and JAL offer flights to the U.S. city from Tokyo Haneda Airport, while United Airlines is scheduled to launch its own Chicago-Tokyo Narita service on October 24, 2026.
