Avolon has signed a sale and leaseback agreement with Akasa Air for up to seven 737 MAX 8 200 aircraft. The India-headquartered Akasa has 17 727 MAX 200s in its fleet, fleet tracking websites show.

Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram in Andhra Pradesh state on India’s east coast commenced commercial operations yesterday (August 17). The new airport replaces Visakhapatnam Airport for commercial flight operations in the local area.

Malaysia Airports said 144 companies attended its recent procurement and project showcase in Kota Kinabalu focused on East Malaysia-based firms. Malaysia Airports is working on a proposed upgrading and expansion of Kota Kinabalu International Airport to increase annual passenger capacity from 9 million to 12 million.
