The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) is supporting Thailand’s flight training schools through a new partnership with Boeing. As part of the partnership, the CAAT will make Boeing’s competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) learning library available to participating flight schools in the country. "This collaboration represents an important step in advancing pilot training standards in Thailand," CAAT personnel licensing department manager, Iratrachar Amornpipat, said. "By leveraging Boeing’s expertise and CBTA learning solutions, we can further strengthen the quality of pilot training and support the continued growth of Thailand’s aviation industry." Boeing Commercial Training Solutions vice president, Chris Broom, said: "Together, we are helping equip future pilots with the knowledge and competencies needed to safely and efficiently operate in today’s increasingly complex aviation environment."
China Airlines has launched a new set of tableware to be used in its business class cabins in partnership with Taiwanese company JIA.
IndiGo has invested in India-based artificial intelligence (AI) company, Sarvam, through its corporate venture capital arm, IndiGo Ventures. The pair was already working together on the use of AI in the LCC’s operations. The investment occurred as part of Sarvam’s latest funding round.
Plaza Premium Group has opened two lounges at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Plaza Premium lounge and Plaza Premium First lounge are co-located at Concourse G and offer seating for 98 and 51 guests, respectively. The two lounges are the Hong Kong-headquartered company’s first lounges in Thailand.
Flight crew training provider, Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC), will add a A220 full-flight simulator at its Singapore facility at Seletar Aerospace Park by the end of the year in partnership with Flight Training Alliance (FTA). AATC, a joint-venture between Airbus and Singapore Airlines, will manage operations and deliver the training. FTA - a joint-venture between CAE and Lufthansa Aviation Training - will deploy the full-flight simulator. "The new A220 simulator will provide airline operators across the region with convenient access to world-class training, helping train their pilots closer to home while supporting the safe and efficient entry into service of their A220 fleet," AATC general manager, Silvia Meloni, said.
