The International Air Transport Association (IATA) called for stronger, collaborative action across the air cargo supply chain in a multi-layered approach to counter the risks from undeclared and misdeclared dangerous goods. The call comes amid discussions among regulators on the role of existing aviation security screening processes as a key line of defense. IATA stresses that security screening is an important layer of protection, but not a primary solution.
CALC announced its interim results for the period ended June 30, 2026. The Group’s total revenue was HK$3.9 billion (US$490 million), up HK$1.4 billion, or 57.9%, from HK$2.5 billion in the corresponding period last year. Profit for the period ended 30 June 2026 amounted to HK$207.7 million (For the six months ended 30 June 2025: HK$157.9 million).
In its interim financial report, CDB Leasing reported HK$12.2 billion (US$1.55 billion) in total revenue and other income, HK$3.7 billion in profit before income tax, and HK$2.9 billion in profit for the reporting period.
DHL Express and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have renewed their crew and maintenance agreement for five Boeing 777 freighters based at Singapore Changi Airport. Under the agreement, SIA pilots will continue to operate the five freighters, while SIA engineers will oversee their maintenance. These five freighters support DHL’s intercontinental air network, connecting its South Asia Hub in Singapore with key destinations in the United States.
Amadeus and Japan Airlines (JAL) will launch the global rollout of New Distribution Capability content (NDC) through the Amadeus Travel Platform starting in October 2026. NDC is a next-generation communication standard developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to distribute information on flight tickets and ancillary services. Unlike legacy methods, NDC enables the delivery of flexible products and services tailored to specific customer needs.
Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney, a unit of RTX, agreed to study a phased plan to develop maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities in Vietnam for Pratt & Whitney’s GTF engines. The proposed facilities would initially support Vietjet’s fleet and could eventually serve other airlines in Vietnam and the wider Asia-Pacific region, the companies said.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has extended its Flight Hour Services (FHS) agreement with Airbus for its A330ceo fleet, continuing a maintenance partnership that began in 2017.
Safran Landing Systems has signed an agreement with China Airlines (CAL) to overhaul the main landing gear on the airline’s fleet of 18 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The agreement covers landing gear maintenance from 2026 through 2031. Safran will carry out the work at its MRO center in Singapore.
HAECO signed a new agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA) to provide landing gear overhaul services for its Boeing 777-300ER and 777-F fleets through 2030. The work will be carried out at HAECO Landing Gear Services facility in Xiamen.
Turkish Airlines has finalized an order for 100 Boeing 737-8s and secured options for another 50 737 MAX aircraft, completing negotiations that began in 2025.
