Greater Bay Airlines touches down in Indonesia

Hong Kong-based Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) has added Indonesia to its route network with the start of nonstop service to Surabaya late last week. Read More » The inaugural flight HB211, operated by 737-800 registration B-KJA, took off from Hong Kong a little before 1830 local time on Friday (September 25) and landed at Surabaya about four and a half hours later. The aircraft was on the ground for about 70 minutes before operating the reciprocal HB212 back to Hong Kong. GBA has scheduled four flights a week on the route. "We are delighted to launch a scheduled service to Surabaya, Indonesia, further expanding our network in the region," GBA CEO, Hou Wei, said. "We will continue to proactively explore new destinations to meet market demand." GBA is one of two airlines flying nonstop between Hong Kong and Surabaya alongside Cathay Pacific Airways.
