Gulf Air touches down in Kuala Lumpur

Gulf Air has started nonstop flights to Kuala Lumpur from its Bahrain hub. Read More » The inaugural flight GF158, operated by 787-9 registration A9C-FA, landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) a little after 1200 local time on September 30, following a seven-hour and 30-minute journey from Bahrain. Flight tracking websites showed the aircraft took off for Kuala Lumpur at 1345 and returned to the airport at about 1500 as flight GF9001. It then operated the reciprocal GF159 to Bahrain at 2120. Gulf Air has scheduled three flights a week on the route. It is the only airline flying nonstop between Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur. "With an increase in international visitors expected, we are ready to manage the higher passenger volumes and have operational plans in place across both terminals," Malaysia Airports managing director, Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani, said. "These include optimising passenger flows, coordinating closely with airlines and relevant government agencies, and strengthening on-ground support to ensure a smooth and welcoming arrival experience. We value Gulf Air’s commitment to this year-round service and look forward to growing our partnership."
