Lufthansa returning to Nagoya, boosting Tokyo schedule

Read More » The Star Alliance member has scheduled three flights a week on the route, which will operate on a seasonal basis from March 29 2027 with three-class 787-8 aircraft featuring 28 business, 28 premium economy and 231 economy class seats. Lufthansa last served Nagoya, located in Aichi Prefecture in Central Japan, in 2020. The German carrier is also adding a daily Frankfurt-Tokyo Narita service with 787-9 equipment from March 28 next year. Lufthansa currently flies daily to Tokyo Haneda from Frankfurt and Munich. Lufthansa Group carriers Austrian Airlines, ITA Airways, Lufthansa and SWISS will have up to 50 flights a week between Europe and Nagoya, Osaka and the two Tokyo area airports during the 2027 northern hemisphere summer scheduling season, which runs from the end of March to the end of October. "Japan is a key market for the Lufthansa Group, and we are pleased to further strengthen our presence with additional capacity and the resumption of flights to Nagoya," Lufthansa Group chief commercial officer, Dieter Vranckx, said. "Together with our expanded Tokyo services, these investments provide our customers with more travel options and support the continued diversification of our intercontinental network."
