Tianjin Airlines launches first intercontinental route from Hohhot

Hohhot Baita International Airport, the capital airport of China’s Inner Mongolia province, will receive its maiden intercontinental route this summer. Read More » From July 8, Tianjin Airlines, an HNA Group carrier, will launch a weekly Hohhot-Moscow Sheremetyevo A330-200 service.

Tianjin Airlines already flies from Chongqing and Tianjin to Moscow. HNA Group sister carrier, Beijing Capital Airlines, will begin flying three times a week from Hangzhou to Sheremetyevo with A330-200s from July 31.

Tianjin Airlines flies five A330s, 35 A320 Family jets and approximately 50 Embraer regional jets. The airline is expected to add A350s to its fleet this year.

Hohhot Airport offers countless domestic flights, but it has few nonstop international services. EVA Air offers a five a week route from Hohhot to Taipei, Vietnam Airlines has a weekly scheduled charter to Cam Ranh, Shandong Airlines connects to Hong Kong twice a week, Spring Airlines operates twice a week to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport via Yangzhou and NewGen Airways runs a weekly scheduled charter to Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport and Phuket, respectively.
