Airbus to auction A380 parts

Aviation enthusiasts keen to have their very own piece of an A380 will have that chance in June when Airbus puts about 500 items salvaged from a decommissioned double decker superjumbo under the hammer. Read More » Proceeds from the auction of bars, handrails, lamps, seats, stairs, trolleys and a cockpit escape rope will support the Airbus Foundation and the AIRitage association. Most of the items will be from A380 MSN13, which records show flew with Emirates Airline from October 2008 until its retirement last October. The auction is scheduled from June 23 to June 25. "The MSN13 was decommissioned in 2021 by Tarmac Aerosave, a world leader in sustainable end-of-life aircraft management with advanced dismantling and recycling techniques that allow a recovery rate of more than 90%," Airbus said.
