Cathay Pacific Group general manager for finance and performance, Christopher Buckley, said there are encouraging signs the positive momentum the airline group experienced in late 2022 is continuing in 2023. Read More » “As we enter 2023 we are increasingly confident about the prospects for the business across immediate and longer term horizons,” Buckley said at the company's financial results presentation this week. “We have the crew in place to support our current schedule and staff attrition has fortunately returned to normal from the more elevated levels of the last three years.” The group’s airlines, Cathay Pacific and HK Express, yesterday reported a net loss of HK$6.5 billion (US$835.2 million) for the 12 months to December 31.The company is forecasting a return to 70% capacity over pre-pandemic levels by December. Cathay Pacific Group CEO, Ronald Lam, added HK Express will be operating at 100% of pre-pandemic services by the end of this month. “HK Express is taking off really fast,” he said.
