China Eastern Airlines still in the red in first quarter 2025

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) has reported a net loss of 995 million yuan (US$137 million) for the three months to March 31 against a net loss of 803 million yuan in the same months in 2024. Read More » Revenue improved 0.7%, to 33.4 billion yuan, CEA said in a regulatory filing. Net cash flow from operating activities declined 49.6% year-on-year, to 2.4 billion yuan, in the reported quarter. CEA said the decline was the result of lower revenue and “decreased cash received from sales of goods and provision of labour services primarily from more severe overall competition in the airline market”.
