Capital A is investigating a Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) listing to access fresh sources of capital. Read More » Capital A executives had met with the HKEX and were “close to” appointing an international investment bank to advise its next steps, the company said. “Capital A is proudly rooted in ASEAN but built for the world,” Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes, said. “With more than 20 destinations across Greater China and significant business exposure in the region, we see Hong Kong as a natural capital markets gateway. A dual listing will allow us to tell our story on a global stage and connect with a broader investor base that values digital first, asset light business models.” Capital A said it is on track to complete its restructuring plan by next month. It added a sovereign wealth fund private placement of 1 billion ringgit (US$235 million) with AirAsia X was close to completion and transfer of its AirAsia airline businesses to AirAsia X was “moving towards conclusion”.
