Australia’s international air travellers increased by 14.8% in February

Australia had 3.3 million passengers fly into and out of the country in February, an increase of 4.3% from 3.2 million international air travellers in the same month in 2024. Read More » Qantas Airways retained its passenger leadership with a 15.8% market share down from 16.2% a year ago, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) reports. Qantas Group LCC, Jetstar Airways, was runner up for the 28 days at 12% of all international passengers, an increase of 1% from a year ago. Singapore Airlines (SIA) was Australia’s largest foreign carrier in the month with a 9.4% market share followed by Air New Zealand (6.8%) and Emirates (5.1%). SIA topped the monthly table for International freight with 13.8% of the market ahead of Qantas (8.7%) and Cathay Pacific (7.9%).
