Akasa Air welcomes 29th aircraft to fleet

Read More » The aircraft, registration VT-YBG, landed in Bengaluru on Monday (June 9), following its ferry flight from Seattle via Keflavik in Iceland and Kuwait. Its arrival lifted Akasa Airlines’ fleet to 29 aircraft. “The induction of this aircraft comes within 33 months of Akasa Air’s operations, highlighting Akasa’s consistent and strategic approach to scaling with reliability, efficiency, and service excellence at its core,” Akasa Air said. The airline said it had a further 197 aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next eight years.
In other Akasa Air news, the India-headquartered carrier has signed an agreement with Adani Airport Holdings to operate out of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). It will have 100 weekly domestic departures when the airport commences operations - expected to be some time later this year - before increasing to more than 300 domestic departures and 50 international departures a week. “No airline in India will have a larger percentage of its fleet and operations based out of NMIA than Akasa Air,” Akasa Air CEO, Vinay Dube, said. “NMIA represents the future of Indian aviation, and our presence from the outset aligns with our vision to serve India’s emerging demand with agility, accessibility, and customer-first innovation.”
