Indonesia AirAsia adds new Jakarta-Manado route

Indonesia AirAsia will commence a new domestic route linking the capital Jakarta with Manado in North Sulawesi province in the country’s east next month. Read More » The LCC is scheduled to begin daily Jakarta-Manado flights on July 17. The route is already served by Batik Air Indonesia, Citilink, Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air. Indonesia AirAsia acting CEO, Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, said Manado was emerging as a centre of new economic growth in Indonesia.

In other Indonesia AirAsia news, the LCC has welcomed the Indonesia government’s recent announcement to lower airfares by cutting the rate of value added tax (VAT) on economy class flight tickets to 5%, down from 11%, during the mid-year school holiday period in June and July.
