Hong Kong International Airport passenger throughput up 19.7% in May

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has announced 4.9 million passengers travelled through its two terminals in May compared with 4.1 million passengers in the same days in 2024. Read More » Flight movements increased 8.8% and cargo tonnage improved 1.4% in the month. “Passenger growth was mainly driven by double digit increases in transfer/transit passengers and visitors,” Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said. “Routes to and from China and Southeast Asia recorded the biggest increases in passenger traffic in the month,” AAHK said. “In the 12 months to May 31, passengers processed through the airport increased 20.1%, to 56.7 million,” it said.
