China Eastern Airlines recorded 4.3% increase in passengers flown in latest month

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) flew 14.4 million passengers in August, better by 4.3% than the 13.8 million customers the airline carried in August 2024. Read More » The SkyTeam alliance airline said international passenger numbers flown in the 31 days improved 16.8%, to 2 million. CEA domestic air travellers carried also improved but at a more modest rate of 2.6 to 12.1 million customers. CEA’s regional passengers transported dipped 0.3%, to 357,580, the Shanghai-headquartered carrier added. The airline expanded passenger capacity by 6.8% and passenger load factor was higher by 1.6% at 88.3% in the month. At August 31, CEA had a fleet of 818 aircraft against 814 airplanes at the end of July.
