Airlines in Australia flew 5.1 million customers on domestic flights in September, up from 5 million in the same month a year earlier. Read More » Capacity, measured by available seats, grew by 4.7%, while passenger load factor fell 2.3 percentage points to 81.4%, the country’s Bureau of Research Infrastructure and Transport Economics (BITRE) said. Passenger numbers on Australia’s busiest domestic rotation – Melbourne-Sydney – fell 1.1% in the month, to 655,100.
