Japan Airlines expands first class on domestic network, adds new Fuji Dream Airlines codeshare

Japan Airlines (JAL) will operate 787-8 aircraft with a first class cabin on select flights on the Osaka Itami-Sapporo New Chitose route from March this year in response to strong demand. Read More » It will be JAL’s second domestic route from Itami to offer first class, alongside nonstop flights to Okinawa Naha. From New Chitose, the oneworld alliance member currently offers a first class cabin on select flights to Tokyo Haneda. "By creating connections through travel, social and economic value will be generated, and the route network will continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers," JAL said.

In other JAL news, the airline will add its JL airline code on Fuji Dream Airlines’ twice daily Nagoya Chubu-Kumamoto service, which is due to commence on March 29. JAL already codeshares on select Fuji Dream Airlines flights from Fukuoka, Matsumoto, Nagoya, Niigata, Osaka Kobe and Shizuoka. "This expansion aims to enhance passenger convenience and support regional economic revitalization by improving connectivity between Central Japan and Kyushu," JAL said.
