Solomon Airlines launches new N.Z.-Vanuatu route

Solomon Airlines is expanding its Pacific Islands network with a new nonstop service between Port Vila in Vanuatu and Christchurch on N.Z.’s South Island. Read More » The route launches on July 1 this year with two flights a week flown by A320 aircraft. It will be the only nonstop link between Vanuatu and Christchurch. Christchurch will be Solomon Airlines’ fourth destination from Port Vila alongside existing service to Auckland, Brisbane and Honiara. In other network changes, the airline is also resuming once weekly nonstop Honiara-Port Vila flights from March 30 and launching a new weekly nonstop Honiara-Port Moresby flight the next day. There are also additional services on the Auckland-Port Vila and Brisbane-Santo routes. "We are closely monitoring demand across our region and adjusting operations to meet opportunities for new business, whilst serving our national interests at the same time," Solomon Airlines CEO, Paul Abbot, said.
