The NSW Government has confirmed a free bus service will serve the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport when it opens later this year from two train stations in Western Sydney. The bus services, which will operate every 30 minutes from early morning until midnight or 1.00am, will be withdrawn once metro rail service to the airport begins in 2027.
Singapore Changi Airport has started operating two autonomous tractors airside to transport baggage between terminals. Six more vehicles are due to join the fleet later this year, with a further 16 tractors expected to be deployed by 2027. The use of autonomous tractors, which are monitored by a control centre, where a human operator can take over the vehicle if required, is a partnership between Changi Airport Group and SATS.
Singapore Airlines is raising S$500 million (US$390 million) in fresh capital through the issuing of 10-year notes with an interest rate of 2.7%. The company said in a regulatory filing the net proceeds from the note issuance was for aircraft purchases, aircraft related payments and general corporate or working capital purposes, such as refinancing of existing borrowings.
