IndiGo has scheduled 252 flights to the Gulf over the next two weeks as it rebuilds its operations to the region following the Israel and US-led war against Iran. Read More » The flights for the period March 16 to March 28 included 126 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia, 98 weekly flights to the U.A.E. and 28 weekly flights to Oman. The LCC said it was "almost back to operating its regular schedule" to the three countries. "The airline will continue to monitor the situation given the ongoing geopolitical risk, airspace restrictions, airport constraints, consistently rising fuel and insurance costs, and other uncertainties," IndiGo said in a regulatory filing. "The airline is aligning capacity with the current conditions while maintaining essential connectivity. IndiGo is taking every possible measure to support its customers during these challenging times and stands ready to operate additional adhoc flights for stranded passengers, if needed." IndiGo said its services to Bahrain, Dammam, Doha, Fujairah, Kuwait, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah remained suspended until at least March 28. The airline also announced late last week it was introducing a fuel surcharge on all routes, starting at 400 rupee (US$4.30) for domestic flights and rising to 2,300 rupee for services to Europe, due to the rising cost of jet fuel.
