Australia’s international air travellers increased 8.4% in 2025

There were 48.4 million international airline passengers flying into and out of Australia last year, an increase of 8.4% from 41.4 million in 2024. Read More » Qantas Group’s Qantas Airways led the market with a 16.1% share of all passengers, down from 16.6% a year earlier, figures from Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) showed. The other Qantas Group airline, Jetstar Airways, was second with a 13% share, up 1.1 percentage points from 2024. Singapore Airlines was Australia’s largest foreign carrier last year at 8.7%, followed by Air New Zealand (6.7%) and Emirates Airline (5.8%). Capacity, measured by available seats, rose 7.5% to 55.7 million last year.
