China Eastern Airlines discloses order for 25 A330s

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) has ordered 25 A330neo aircraft from Airbus. Read More » The aircraft were scheduled to be delivered between 2029 and 2033. The SkyTeam alliance member said the new aircraft order was to replace its existing A330ceo aircraft. CEA has 56 A330-200 and A330-300 aircraft in its fleet. "The 25 A330neo series aircraft under this purchase are scheduled for delivery in batches to the company from 2029 to 2033, with four in 2029, five in 2030, six in 2031, seven in 2032 and three in 2033," CEA said in a regulatory filing. "The company could adjust the specific time of introduction and aircraft model under the transaction based on the market conditions and the transportation capacity planning of the company in the future. The company anticipates that during the period for the delivery of the aircraft introduced (2029-2033), approximately 10 or more aircraft of the A330CEO series will be retired owing to the aircraft age. Therefore, the 25 aircraft purchased by the company will serve as a replacement for some of the existing models of aircraft."
