Taiwan-headquartered STARLUX Airlines is planning to add Auckland in New Zealand and Sydney in Australia to its route network next year. Read More » Sydney will be STARLUX’s first destination in Australia. The airline will serve Auckland one-stop as part of a Taipei Taoyuan-Sydney Kingsford Smith-Auckland routing, Sydney Airport said. An exact start date was not disclosed. "Sydney is one of the world’s great gateway cities and we are excited to connect travellers with our award-winning service and premium travel experience," STARLUX CEO, Glenn Chai, said. "This new route will strengthen links between Australia and Taiwan, while providing customers with seamless connections through Taipei to destinations across Asia and beyond." An exact start date was not disclosed. "Flight schedules are currently being finalised, with further details to be announced shortly," Sydney Airport said. China Airlines (CAL) is currently the only airline offering nonstop flights between Taoyuan and Sydney. EVA Air is on the Brisbane-Taoyuan route, while CAL also has a Taoyuan-Brisbane-Auckland offering.
