Air Cambodia said it plans to spend approximately US$3.2 billion on Boeing aircraft as Cambodia and the US deepen aviation cooperation covering aircraft procurement, airport investment, air cargo and logistics. The aircraft plan was discussed during a meeting between Cambodia’s civil aviation authorities and the US Embassy. Air Cambodia previously announced plans to acquire 10 737-8 aircraft, with first deliveries expected in 2031, and holds options for an additional 10 aircraft of the same type. The discussions also covered a proposed US$100 million US International Development Finance Corporation investment in Techo International Airport and plans to develop an air cargo and logistics hub at the new airport. Cambodia is also progressing toward approval of the Cape Town Convention, which provides an international legal framework supporting aircraft financing and leasing.

Also in Vietnam Airlines news, on On August 12, as part of the Vietnam – Australia Forum on Science and Technology, Innovation, Investment, and Education and Training, Vietnam Airlines signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with RMIT University and Trip.com. Through its partnership with RMIT, Vietnam Airlines will accelerate research and the application of AI and digital technologies, while expanding training programs in pilot training, aviation safety, digital transformation, and high-quality human resources development. With Trip.com, Vietnam Airlines will collaborate on promoting and distributing its products through online travel platforms across key international markets, contributing to the expansion of its global business operations.
