Etihad and Starlux deepen partnership with frequent flyer tie up

Etihad Airways and Starlux Airlines have opened earning and redemption opportunities for members of their respective frequent flyer programs on each other’s flights. Read More » At the start of August, Etihad Guest members have been able to use their miles to redeem flights on business and economy on Starlux’s global network from its Taipei Taoyuan hub. Etihad Guest members will be able to earn miles on Starlux flights from a yet-to-be-disclosed date later this year. Similarly, Starlux’s COSMILE members can earn and redeem miles when flying on Etihad Airways starting later this year. Etihad flies nonstop from its Abu Dhabi hub to Taoyuan. Starlux, which does not fly to Abu Dhabi, codeshares on the route. "Our loyalty partnership with Etihad Guest is a natural next step in our relationship with Etihad, following our codeshare agreement last year," Starlux chief passenger commercial officer, Richard Tseng, said. Etihad chief revenue and commercial officer, Arik De, said: "As we build towards full reciprocal earning and redemption in October, we’re creating a seamless loyalty experience that reflects the strength of our wider partnership with STARLUX, from our codeshare agreement to our direct Abu Dhabi-Taipei service."
