Fiji Airways touches down in Nouméa

Fiji Airways has resumed nonstop flights to Nouméa in New Caledonia after a two-year absence. Read More » Flight FJ291, operated by ATR 72-600 registration DQ-FLD, took off from Nadi at 0800 local time and touched down in Nouméa a little before 1000. The aircraft was on the ground for about two hours before operating the reciprocal FJ290 back to Nadi. Fiji Airways, which last served Nouméa in June 2024, has scheduled two flights a week on the route, with the service operated by its regional unit Fiji Link. "Nadi to Nouméa opens up an exciting new way for our two countries to connect, reinforcing Fiji’s place as the Pacific’s connecting hub," Fiji Airways CEO, Paul Scurrah, said. "For travellers in New Caledonia, this route means more than a link to Fiji. It’s convenient access to our wider network, with onward connections through Nadi across the Pacific, New Zealand, Asia, Australia and North America." Fiji Airways joins AirCalin flying nonstop on the Nouméa-Nadi route.
