Singapore Airlines (SIA) will shut down its premium passenger lounge in Terminal 2 at Taipei Taoyuan airport at the start of November. Read More » The Star Alliance member said the move to cease operations of its Taoyuan lounge from November 1 was due to renovation works at the airport. The airline will redirect eligible passengers, including business class and passengers holding status with its KrisFlyer program, to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Terminal 2. Eligible passengers may also access the lounges of Star Alliance member EVA Air. "We thank our customers for their kind understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused," SIA said in a statement on its website. The shuttering of its Taoyuan lounge leaves SIA with eight lounges outside its Singapore Changi hub - Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Brisbane, Hong Kong, London Heathrow, Melbourne Tullamarine, Perth, Seoul Incheon and Sydney Kingsford-Smith.
