Finnair wet lease agreement with Qantas Group reduced to one aircraft

As a consequence of the reduced wet lease flying, Finnair will place 36 of its long haul pilots on unpaid leave from the end of September to at least May 2026. “Unfortunately, the industrial action of the pilots has affected our ability to operate our wet lease operations with the reliability needed, resulting in changes in our collaboration and consequently, the need to furlough some of our pilots,” Finnair chief operating officer, Jaakko Schildt, said. “The situation is unfortunate for all parties.”
