Singapore Changi Airport will handle 600 supplementary flights scheduled by six airlines during the Lunar New Year travel period between February 1 and March 8, more than double the number of extra services offered in the same period last year. Read More » The six airlines operating supplementary flights - Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Loong Air, Spring Airlines and Xiamen Airlines - will link Singapore with 15 cities across Mainland China, Changi Airport Group (CAG) said. To support the additional flights, Changi Airport is extending the early check-in period at Terminals 1 and 3, keeping some lounge services open 24 hours a day and scheduling the popular "rain vortex" display at the Jewel shopping centre to run until midnight. "The doubling of flight capacity between China and Singapore this Lunar New Year reflects the strong travel demand we continue to see between China and Singapore, as well as the close partnerships we have built with our airline partners,"CAG executive vice president for air hub and cargo development, Lim Ching Kiat, said. "The extended services, including to several cities receiving supplementary flights for the first time, will further strengthen Singapore’s position as a key gateway to China."
