Air India expands North America network through interline with WestJet

Air India has signed an interline agreement with Canada-headquartered WestJet covering 31 destinations across North America. Read More » The agreement allows Air India to offer single-ticket itineraries from India to 17 points in Canada and 14 points in the U.S. served by Westjet from Toronto and Vancouver, with passengers able to have checkin baggage tagged through to their final destination and receive boarding passes for all flights at the start of their journey. The Star Alliance member, which flies 10 times a week to Toronto and seven times a week to Vancouver, already interlines with WestJet to points in Canada from Amsterdam, Paris Charles de Gaulle and London’s Gatwick and Heathrow airports. "Canada continues to be a key market for Air India, driven by strong people‑to‑people ties and increasing trade between our nations," Air India chief commercial officer, Nipun Aggarwal, said. "By partnering with WestJet, we are making travel across North America more accessible and effortless for our guests, with coordinated baggage handling, single‑ticket convenience, and a far wider choice of destinations." WestJet Group chief commercial officer, John Weatherill, said: "This partnership aligns Air India’s long-haul strength with WestJet’s North American reach, creating meaningful new travel options and improving the end-to-end journey for travellers."
