Virgin Australia (VA) will restart nonstop flights from Melbourne and Sydney to Doha from June 15. Read More » The flights, which are operated by alliance partner Qatar Airways on behalf of VA under a wet lease agreement, were suspended following the closure of airspace in the Gulf region due to the Israel and U.S.-led war against Iran. The Australian carrier’s nonstop services from Brisbane and Perth to Doha, which are also operated on its behalf by Qatar Airways, are cancelled until at least September 14, with impacted passengers given the option of being rebooked on alternative flights or receiving a refund or travel credit. "Guests planning to travel to, or transit through, the region should check the Australian Government’s Smartraveller website for the latest travel advice," VA said in a statement on its website.

In related news, Qatar Airways announced recently it was returning to Brisbane from May 16, and Adelaide and Auckland from June 16 as part of a gradual rebuild of its route network.
