Japan Airlines posts mixed passenger numbers for April

Japan Airlines (JAL) reported flat traffic numbers at domestic operations in April, while its international networks managed slim growth during the 30 days. Read More » The oneworld alliance member reported 2.869 million passengers flown on its domestic services in April, little changed from the 2.870 million carried in the same month a year earlier. Capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK) was 2% lower in the 30 days, while revenue passenger kilometres, a measure of demand, was flat. Domestic passenger load factor rose 1.6 percentage points at 78.3%. There was some growth on JAL’s international operations, which had 662,768 passengers last month, up 1.6% from 652,058 in April 2025. Capacity eased 0.2%, while demand grew 1.5%. International passenger load factor rose 1.4 percentage points to 87.1%.
