Australia’s domestic passenger traffic flat in June

Passenger load factor was 1.4 percentage points higher at 81.5%. Australia’s busiest domestic route - Melbourne-Sydney - recorded a 1.1% increase in passenger numbers to 621,600 for the reported 30 days. The number of seats on the route was down 6.3% compared with a year ago. As a consequence, passenger load factor jumped 6.2 percentage points to 85.2%. Australia’s next two busiest domestic routes, Brisbane-Sydney and Brisbane-Melbourne, grew passengers carried 0.5% to 346,000 and 2.8% to 287,000, respectively.
